The inspiration for this book came from the famous quote from Charles Lummis. Charles 

Lummis (1859-1928) was an influential American journalist, author, and advocate for Native American rights. His quote, "I am bigger than anything that can happen to me.  All these things, sorrow, misfortune and suffering are outside my door.  I am in the house and I have the key," really resonated with me.  The quote is so powerful that I always kept it in my thoughts. I thought it would be a great inspiration for teaching young children and adults the power of emotional regulation.
